PRETTY PICTURES
(PART TWO)
One of the loveliest weddings I ever attended was kind of a catastrophe.
At the exact moment the bride started her walk down the aisle, a monsoon storm crashed onto the beach, ripping the flower arch out of the ground and drenching everyone with rain. We ran for cover behind some random bungalow, and decided to hold the ceremony up against the only dry wall.
The bride had mascara running down her face, her hair was completely ruined and her dress was covered in sand. But you know what? She suddenly started laughing. Then she wiped her eyes and shrugged and said "Come on ! It's time to get married !".
And the groom kissed her delicious wet cheeks and everyone cheered, and the rest of the day was as happy as can be. And I bet they'll still be laughing and loving 60 years from now.
So please: find the dreamiest landscape with the most exquisite architecture you can. Pick out the finest dresses and the most stylish accessories. Plan every last detail to be as magical as can be. My portfolio will be forever grateful.
But remember. If you want to guarantee a perfect wedding, all you really need to bring on the day are two large hearts and two large senses of humour. Then everything will be fine, even if – God forbid ! – it isn't.
